Arnold Dahl, age 85, of Thompson, IA, died on Monday, February 22, 2010. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 26, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Community Church located at 2015 3rd Ave. S., Estherville, IA 51334. Visitation will be Friday, February 26, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Crossroads Community Church. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery in Estherville. Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the family at 2904 Davis Ave., Sioux City, Iowa 51106.

Arnold Cecil Dahl was born on December 3, 1924 at Thompson, IA to Albert and Bertha (Myre) Dahl. He attended country school near Thompson and then went to Thompson High School. Arnold was born and raised on the family farm, taking over the farming operation in 1944. He continued farming until his retirement in 1989. He married Lillian Marveline Enerson on September 5, 1959 at Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville, IA.

Arnold was a member of Linden Lutheran Church by Thompson, IA until it closed in 1977 and then transferred to Liberty Lutheran Church at Rake, IA. He loved working with wood and metal.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bertha Dahl and 2 sisters Myrtle Dahl and Cora Lura.

Survivors include his wife, Lillian Dahl, a daughter, Evelyn "Evie" (Ken) Morey of Sioux City, IA, brother, Carold (Marguerite) Dahl of Sioux City, IA, 2 granddaughters, Emily and Kalvery Morey of Sioux City, IA, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
