Kenneth Mack age 98, of Perry died on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at Perry Lutheran Home in Perry. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2009 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials will be given to family and may be left at the Funeral Home.

Francis Kenneth Mack was born on October 27, 1910 at Terril, IA to Howard William and Clara Pauline (Krogstad) Mack. He graduated from Garrison, IA in 1927. He then farmed with his dad and brother until he entered the United States Army during WW II. While in the Army he served with the Military Police. Shortly after the war he married Esther Mildred Watson on March 17, 1949 at Grand Island, NE. They farmed again until 1954 when he started in the hardware business. He worked at Carr Hardware in Ames, IA, and in 1966 he moved to Perry to work at Bebout Hardware which later became Harland Ace Hardware.

Kenneth was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, music, especially the harmonica, reading books and pitching horse shoes.

Kenneth was preceded in death by parents, Howard and Clara Mack, wife, Esther Mildred Mack and 2 sisters, Hazel and Evelyn.

Survivors include his 2 sons, Shannon (Rhonda) Mack of Brandon, SD, Kevin (Marilyn) Mack of Barnhart, MO, brother, Everett (Evelyn) Mack, 5 grandchildren, Randy Mack, Cassie Mack, Josh (Sarah) Mack, Andy Mack and Angie Mack, 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Kevin Mack.
