James Edmiston age 43, of Woodward died on Friday, January 1, 2010 at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 8, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery. Memorials will be given to the family and may be left at the Funeral Home.

James David Edmiston was born on May 17, 1966 at Perry, IA to Willard Lewis and Lauretta Lyle (Twogood) Edmiston. He graduated from Perry Community High School and then attended the Western Arizona University for pilot training. Most recently James worked for LPB in Earlham, IA as a plant manager. He also made some flights as an independent charter pilot. He was united in marriage to Ly Hue Lan in Vietnam.

James attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Perry. He spoke several languages besides English; Spanish, Russian, German, Laotian, and Vietnamese.

James was preceded in death by his father Willard Edmiston.
Survivors include his wife Ly Hue in Vietnam, mother Lauretta Edmiston, Perry, IA, siblings, Ramona Matthews (Charles) of Jamaica, IA, Lisa Nicolaisen (Christopher) of Perry, IA, Michael Edmiston (Janet) of Des Moines, IA, Daniel Edmiston of Sugar Hill, GA, and Linda Cornelison (Eric) of Perry, IA, 3 nieces and 5 nephews.
