Judy Eastman age 65, of Dawson, IA, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at her home in Dawson. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 7, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Perry Bible Church in Perry, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, May 6, 2010 from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dallas Township Cemetery by Dawson, IA. Memorials will be given to Hospice of Central Iowa and Relay for Life and may be left at the Funeral Home.

 

Judy Rae Eastman was born on August 23, 1944 at Perry, IA to Raymond Eugene and Dorothy Mildred (Devilbiss) Lewis. Judy graduated from Perry Community High School in 1963. She married Eldon Eastman on February 16, 1973 at Elk Point, South Dakota. Judy was a stay at home mom plus having day care for other children before working at Rebel Express in Dawson and then Tyson for 15 years.


Judy was a member of the Perry Bible Church. Judy enjoyed bowling, and loved to spend time with her family and friends. She spent many years participating in the Perry Saddle Club organizing horse shows and rodeos. She also served her community on the city council of Dawson for many years and several years served as mayor.


Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy Lewis, sister, Donna Choate, and 2 granddaughters Jessica Dixon and Beatrice Blades.


Survivors include her husband, Eldon Eastman, of Dawson, IA, father, Raymond Lewis, of Perry, IA, children, Patrick (Lisa) Eastman of Dawson, IA, Wendy (Scott) Cooper of Dawson, IA, Ronda (Mike) Blades of Elysian Fields, TX, Kim Dixon of Corpus Christi, TX, Sherri Sharp of Springfield, MO, Kerri (Orlin) Heinz and Denise (Joel) Heinz of Dawson, IA, grandchildren, Keegan and Lexi Eastman, Amanda and Lukas Cooper, Betty Lynn, Heather Blades, Danielle Dixon, Ashley (Ben) Hoffman, Megan and Kyle Sharp, Melody (Josh) Seymour, Josh (Lacey) Heinz, Jacob Heinz, Matt (Christina) Heinz and Mike Heinz, great grandchildren, Lilah Heinz, and Haleigh and Myles Ainsworth.
