Marvin Terrill age 89, of Perry died on Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Dallas County Hospital in Perry. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 13, 2010 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Private family graveside service will be held at later date. Memorials may be given to Alzheimer's Association and may be left at the Funeral Home.

 

Marvin Terrill was born on March 10, 1921 at Redfield, IA to and Otis and Irene (Grow) Terrill. He graduated from Rippey High School. He was retired from the Milwaukee Railroad where worked as a conductor on passenger trains and a brakeman on freight trains. He also farmed while he worked on the railroad and for a while after he retired. He was also a lifelong pilot and was one of the founding members of the Iowa Flying Farmers.


Marvin was preceded in death by his parents Otis and Irene, first wife, Carolen Terrill, his second wife Evelyn Terrill, 2 brothers, Claire and Stanley Terrill and a sister Lorraine Irwin.


Survivors include his son, Martin Terrill (Pam) of Perry, IA, 3 grandchildren, Richard Terrill of Kansas City, MO, Rebecca Terrill of San Francisco, CA, and Rachael Holmes of Ankeny.
