Max McCuen, age 58, of Yale died on Thursday, January 28, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 1, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Sunday, January 31, 2010 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Prairie Center Cemetery. Memorials may be given directly to Trinity Lutheran Church, Perry, IA, the Yale Community Building Fund, or may be left at the Funeral Home.

 

Max Robert McCuen was born on November 13, 1951 in Perry, IA to Robert Barton and Beverly Lois (Lorenzen) McCuen. He graduated from Perry Community High School in 1969. Max started his farming career with dairy cattle. He later raised purebred and production hogs and registered Angus cattle. Max loved farming, big John Deere tractors, big dually trucks, and cars with big engines.


Max was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Beverly McCuen.


Survivors include his sister, Barbara Anne McCuen, Lincoln, NE; niece, Rebecca Carol McCuen Davis, Denver, CO; his close friend, LaRoyce Kress, Audubon, IA; and many more close friends.
