Michael Stoltz, age 61, of Perry, died on Wednesday, May 12, 2010, at Dallas County Hospital in Perry. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 17, 2010, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be Sunday, May 16, 2010 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry. Memorials may be given to the Gift of Life Transplant House at 705 2nd St., S.W., Rochester, MN 55902 or the Church of Christ at PO Box 49, Yale, IA 50277 and may be left at the Funeral Home.

Michael James Stoltz was born on May 10, 1949 at South Bend, IN to Harry Arthur and Helen Bernice (Griffith) Stoltz. He graduated from Colonial High School, at Orlando, FL. He continued his education at the Midwestern School of Evangelism at Ottumwa, IA. He married Dorothy Maree Whitver on May 17, 1970 at Jefferson, IA. Michael owned and operated Mike's Auto Service in Linden from 1981 to 1990, then joined Van Wall Equipment in Perry from 1990 to 2010 as a Field Technician.

Michael was a member of the Church of Christ at Yale, IA. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with the light of his life, his grandchildren. Restoring classic cars and tractors was also a favorite pastime.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Helen Stoltz and a brother, Gerald Stoltz.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Stoltz, Perry, IA, children, Nathaniel Stoltz of Jefferson, IA, Selena Swanson (Joel) of Des Moines, IA, and Sara Navarrete (Jorge) of Catia La Mar, Venezuala, brother, Joseph Mason (Laura) of Crete, IL, sister, Bonnie Fitzgerald (Stuart) of Orlando, FL, grandchildren, Bethany, Lydia, Gabriel, Helen and Evelyn Swanson and Jacqueline and Mikayla Navarrete.
