Ronald Cross age 73, of Perry died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown. Memorial services will be held Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 1:30 p.m. at Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Memorials may be given to family and may be left at the Funeral Home.

Ronald Lee Cross was born on June 29, 1936 at Perry, IA to Leo P. Cross and Nellie Gladys (Sumner) Harvey. He attended country school by Ogden and then attended school in Ogden. His family moved to Perry and he graduated with the class of 1955. He served in the United States Air Force in and had his Basic training at Lackland and El Paso, TX. During his time the the Air Force he spent 1½ years in Spain. Ronnie worked for Firestone Tire Company then worked for Walmac motors in Des Moines.
Ronnie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Perry. He was a big NASCAR fan.
Ronnie was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Nellie, step-father Thomas Harvey and his beloved dog Rusty.
Survivors include his son, Danny Cross, Jefferson, IA, 2 daughters, Cindy Taylor of Georgetown, TX, and Rona Cross of Perry, IA, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.
